Dr Moorin is a Postdoctoral Fellow at ACERH (UWA) having previously been a member of Professor D’Arcy Holman’s research team at the Centre for Health Services Research, UWA. She has strong technical and computing credentials and is experienced with manipulation and analysis of linked administrative data. She also has significant expertise and experience in probabilistic modelling and quantitative data analysis stemming from her background in medical radiation science. Dr Moorin is the convener of the Defeating Social Inequalities Strategic Initiative Group in the School of Population Health at the University of Western Australia. She also teaches at undergraduate level in epidemiology and public health and is a coordinator of the Health Science Honours program within the School.
Dr Moorin’s research interests include:
• The health effects of social inequality
• Provision of health services
• Health care financing
• The impact of health care policies on utilisation and outcomes.
She is currently undertaking research within ACERH that is an extension of work performed as part of her PhD. This involves a collaborative project between the private sector health insurance industry, public sector health administration and academics in health service.
