Rosemary Korda is an epidemiologist, with a particular interest in health inequalities. Her PhD thesis was on socioeconomic inequalities in health care in Australia. This research examined the impact of health care on inequalities in mortality and quantified inequalities in the use of ambulatory and high-technology inpatient health care.

Her current research interests include:

  • Income inequality and health
  • Inequalities in health care use and in health care-related outcomes
  • Understanding factors related to private health insurance
  • Projecting the impacts of hepatitis B in Australia
  • Obesity and hospitalisation

Her work mainly involves the analysis of large datasets, including longitudinal survey data, linked administrative health data and unit record mortality data.
