Lorna Guinness is a lecturer in Health Economics at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and will be a Visiting Fellow at ACERH during 2010. She is currently working on the economic evaluation of the Avahan Initiative — a large scale HIV prevention programme in India funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She is also co-editing an introductory health economics text book and co-directing an annual short course in health policy and financing for UNICEF. Her research interests include economic evaluation of HIV/AIDS programmes and the role of institutional economics in understanding contracting out of health services in low-income countries.
